The Wright "Vin Fiz" won acclaim with Calbrath Perry Rodgers at the controls as being the first aircraft to cross the American continent. Not an easy journey by far, plagued by breakdowns and crashes, the flight proved the validity of aircraft as a viable means of transportation. It was also one of the first examples of corporate sponsorship as the "Vin Fiz" company financed the journey to promote their grape-like drink.

The Collings Foundation's "Vin Fiz" replica was built using the same material-types as the original "Vin Fiz" and is on permanant display at the Stow, MA location.
